Meet John

John P. Newman II is a long-time resident of Ypsilanti Township and the current Ypsilanti Township Trustee. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and an MBA in Management Information Systems. He began his career with the Internal Revenue Service as a Revenue Agent trainee, where he met his wife, Karen.

 

John later worked for Wayne County as a Budget Analyst and Department Manager for 20 years, overseeing the budgets for major county departments such as the Register of Deeds, Homeland Security, Sheriff, Clerk, and the CEO.

 

John is a former Senior Analyst who managed the Child Care fund, the statistical section of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), and coordinates the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards. He is recognized for his meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
